Many visitors choose to surf at nearby Currumbin Alley. Currumbin is part of the World Surfing Reserve and is popular with surfers. This beach break tends to experience larger waves, from a wider directional range than the neighbouring southern beach breaks due to the reduced sheltering effects of Greenmount and Snapper Rocks.

Make sure you swim between the red and yellow flags which indicate that the beach is patrolled. The tower is patrolled between 8am and 5pm every day all year round. Currumbin beach is next to parklands that contain toilets, tables and shade structures and beach showers.
